Edit copy where you read it.
Copy reads differently on the page than in the code. With Tencil you change it where you read it: select the words, say what they should be, and your agent finds where they live.
npx tencilSelect the words
The agent gets the visible text of the element you clicked and, when you select part of it, exactly the words you selected. No guessing which "Get started" you meant.
Wherever the string lives
In a component, a CMS fixture or a translation file: the agent searches your repository with the text and the component in hand, and changes the source, not the page.
Read it again in place
The page reloads with the new copy, in its real layout, so you see at once whether it wraps, fits the button or needs another pass.
Frequently asked questions
What to know before you start.
Yes: say so in the pin, such as "use Sign in everywhere instead of Log in". The agent works on your whole repository.
Anyone running the app on their own machine with Tencil set up: it runs next to your dev server, not on a shared site.
More use cases
Tencil works the same everywhere: point at an element, say what should change.
- UI polishSpacing, alignment, colors and states: click the element that looks off, say what should change and your coding agent edits the right component.
- Visual bugsOverflowing text, a broken layout at one width, a misaligned icon: pin the bug on the element and your coding agent gets the markup, size and viewport to fix it.
- Design reviewWalk through a feature on your dev site, pin every change on the element it is about and let your coding agent work through them while you keep reviewing.
